Concrete Pumpkin Napkin Rings

Happy Friday my Friends! I have a wonderful project to share with you today using something that we don't often use...

Concrete Pumpkin Napkin Rings

Aren't these little darlings adorable? Hopefully these will be gracing your dining table this year for Thanksgiving.

Materials we'll need:

Feather Finish Concrete or Quikrete

– Rubber Pumpkin Mold (I found mine at Wal-Mart for $.97)

Copper Wire

– Hot Glue Gun

Quikrete would definitely be less expensive for this but I already had some left over Feather Finish Concrete from our Concrete Countertops so I used that instead.

I mixed the concrete using a 2:1 ratio, I only needed about 1/2 cup to fill the mold. Once I filled the pumpkins, I used a putty knife to scrape off the extra cement and create a clean flat back to each pumpkin. You’ll want to let them dry for 24-36 hours or until you see them lighten in color. Then just carefully peel them out of the mold. They should pop righto out.

I wrapped thin copper into circles and separated each loop. Then secured them with some hot glue. Your done.

What do you think? Pretty beautiful, especially with some faux wheat that you can easily find at the Dollar Store.

This has definitely inspired me to think about using cement with different molds for some of my home decor projects.
