Fall in France

Saturday French Style

· Recipes,French Style,Older Posts

I do realize that we don't live in France, but I was still curious as to how their falls looked.

For some reason, I was surprised to see that their fall is very much like ours throughout the cities - including Paris.

However there are a few things that I'd like to share with you.

Enjoying the produce section, especially all of the mushroom varieties.

These will be necessary in some of the French Recipes that I'm going to be sharing with you this fall. So just browse your grocery store to see what kinds of mushrooms they have to offer.

Enjoying hot beverages this season.

  • 1/2 a teaspoon of Salt
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of Vanilla
  • 3/4 of a cup of Water
  • 1 to 1 and 1/2 cups of White Chocolate Chips (depending on how strong of a taste and how sweet you want it)
  • 1/2 a gallon of Milk
  • Whip Cream
  • Peppermint Crumbs (if desired)
  • Start by placing your sugar, salt, vanilla, and water into a LARGE saucepan.
  • Heat up, on medium heat, while stirring frequently until syrup forms.
  • Add in chocolate chips and continue to stir until melted.
  • Pour in milk, stir, and heat up until top becomes frothy.
  • Pour into mugs and top with whip cream.
  • Add peppermint on top of whip cream if desired.
  • Serve and enjoy! Taste just like a white chocolate milkshake!

Homemade Hot Chocolate

  • Dutch process cocoa powder (or regular works too, see notes in recipe)
  • Granulated sugar
  • Cornstarch
  • Whole Milk
  • Heavy cream
  • Vanilla extract (which can be omitted, it’s pricey these days!)
How to Make Hot Cocoa

In a medium saucepan whisk together sugar, cocoa powder and cornstarch.

Pour in milk then whisk until well blended.

Cook Over the Stovetop

Bring to a light boil over medium heat, stirring frequently, then reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer about 10 – 15 seconds stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Stir in cream and vanilla. Let cool a bit before serving.

Serve with whipped cream or marshmallows on top if desired.

  • Stir them all together until your sugar is dissolved.

  • Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours until heated through.

  • Serve with whipped cream and cinnamon.

Now with MUSHROOMS added to our grocery list and our bellies warm, let's take a look at some outfits that are sure to keep you warm as your hustling and bustling around.

Wearing just a pair of beautiful slacks in an autumn color is perfect for this time of year. Of course black goes with everything, so add a black top to your outfit.

The different types of materials are very important this time of year, because rather than cotton - there's plenty of materials that will keep us warm and cozy.

Like with these velvet slacks in a gorgeous shade of orange. Simply perfect.

A cozy coordinated outfit can go from day to evening with no hesitation.

I believe it's fair to say that the much cooler weather has a habit of just appearing one morning.

Being prepared is quite simple. Just find yourself a trench coat that you love.

Beautiful neutral colored coats are always the best.

Maybe you want a little Sas this fall with a beautiful autumn colored faux-fur coat?
