So here they are, some of my favorite French Country Thrift finds.
One of my absolute favorites. I purchased this antique queen headboard from Habitat for Humanity and refinished it in how you see here. It was originally a mahogany color.
This gorgeous metal piece was an antique drawer pull of sorts.
This is an antique desk that I refinished in what you see. A lot of paint layers and a lot of distressing. I actually have just sold this piece.
Here's my antique brass headboard that I refinished in a very rusty worn finish. I purchased this from Goodwill for $10.00. It was a steal - I was so happy the rest of the day.
I made this lamp from a glass lamp that I purchased at Goodwill for $3.00. The glass fluted piece has a mercury glass finish and then I painted the base and metal pieces at the top of the lamp in a matte silver - then "burnished". The lamp shade I also purchased from the Goodwill for $3.00.
I'm using this on my work table for right now because it's gorgeous and provides plenty of light.
I purchased two of these lamps with the gorgeous cream linen shades that you see for only $10.00. Then I made the glorious flowers that you see for the shades.
This also was a steal.
I purchased this small metal candle holder for about $2.00 at Goodwill, refinished it in a chippy white paint and made these gorgeous flowers that I made.
Here we are in my kitchen. This was another incredible find. An antique apple thingy. I only paid $5.00 for this and love it in my kitchen for a little French Country decor.
I love this antique sifter. I've used it to put flowers in, but for now - it's just standing pretty. I actually paid what this was originally sold for - $2.00 at Goodwill.
This adorable small table lamp I originally purchased for $2.00. I changed the shade and added burlap trim to the top and bottom of it. I also added a beautiful metal piece to the bottom of the lamp which required me rewiring it.
Ahh...my collection of antique metal frames with all of my beautiful children. I painted - then distressed these.
These are the only types of frames that I buy now. And guess what? Their only $1.00 each.
Here's one of my antique silver dishes being used to keep my project materials on.
My most recent purchase. Aren't these earrings gorgeous? Only $1.25 each at Goodwill.
This is - how is it said - PROOF IN THE PUDDING?
Goodwill is a spectacular store to shop at because you really never know what your going to stumble upon.
