Halloween Candles

Happy Wednesday my friends!

Do you love candles as much as I do? Lighting all my candles in the evening while I lounge to watch tv is pure luxury to me. I love looking at the shadows they cast depending on what their sitting next to.

Sometimes it's nice to have candles that reflect the holiday or season that we're in to coordinate with our decor. And what better way to do this, than with our own creativity.

I saw this candle holder and it reminded me of a little trick I've had up my sleeve to try and it's so super simple.

The best part is that you can download to your computer any design you'd like.

Because this technique is done on glass candle holders, you may need to completely soak your glass candle holder in a bit of Dawn dish soap and hot water to remove the sticker that's on it.

Let's get started...

Materials you'll need:

Heavy Duty Packing Tape

Burnisher (use something like a credit card)

Images of your choice

Glass Candle Holder

Step 1. Find a Halloween image on your computer and print it to the size of your candle holder. Do a Google search for "Black and White Halloween Clipart"

Step 2. Trim your image

Step 3. Just lie your image down and center the packing tape over it evenly and press. Then cut the tape. IMPORTANT - whatever is white will be transparent

Step 4. Using something like a credit card or tongue depressor stick, burnish the image. It's very important to make sure to press heavily over the entire image. Go over it a few times to be sure…from corner to corner…end to end to insure a great finished product.

Step 5. Get a bowl with very warm water in it and place your packing tape burnished image into the bowl and allow to soak about 2-3 minutes.

Step 6. Remove it from the bowl and place it in between your thumb and index finger and begin to rub back and forth with force…you will see the paper coming off…continue to dip it into the water and keep working it till all the white is off. DO NOT WORRY about the sticky side…it will be just like new when it dries. Also there might be a tiny bit of white residue on your tape…that too is ok : )

Step 7. Now that all the paper is removed…place it on a flat surface and allow it to dry.

Step 8. Once the stickers are dry it is time to apply them to your surface…it couldn’t be easier…it goes on just like a sticker…it is that easy! Make sure to smooth it nicely. If you have stickers that you are not going to use…just place them on wax paper for another day.

How gorgeous is this?

This is one of my favorite transfer techniques.
