The Book of John I
The Book of John I is were I'd like to start. I consider myself blessed to have received the help of a friend of mine to begin reading the Bible. For my entire life, I've wanted to do this. However with every attempt, I grew frustrated because it was all to confusing to me. I started like possibly many of people with beginning from the beginning, despite knowing that the Bible is not meant to be read like a typical book. So with the help of my friend in saying to start with the Book of John I, I've been able to read it and learn so much about how life began.
So it's with these words that I want to share a piece of the bible with you every Sunday.
John I 1 " The one who existed from the beginning is the one we have heard and seen. This one who is life from God was shown to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and announce to you that he is the one who is eternal life."
John I 1 "God is light and there is no darkness in him at all." If we are living in the light of God's presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin."
John I 2 "If you do sin, there is someone to plead for you before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who pleases God completely. How can we be sure that we belong to him? By obeying his commandments. "
John I 2 "I belong to God, but doesn't obey God's commandments, that person is a liar and does not live in the truth. But those who obey God's word really do love him. That is the way to know whether or not we live in him."
John I 2 "This commandment - to love one another is true in Christ and is true among you, because the darkness is disappearing and the true light is already shining."
John I 2 "Anyone who says, I am in the light, but rejects another Christian is still in darkness. Anyone who loves other Christians is walking in the light and does not cause anyone to stumble. Those who reject other Christians are wandering in spiritual darkness and don't know where they are going, for the darkness has made them blind."
John I 2 "For when you love the world, you show that you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only the lust for physical pleasure, the lust for everything we see, and pride in our possessions. These are not from the Father. They are from this evil world. And this world is fading away, along with everything it craves. But if you do the will of God, you will live forever."
John I 2 "Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the end of the world has come."
John I 2 "You have received the Holy Spirit and he lives within you."
John I 2 "Continue to live in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame."
I have much more in the Book of John I to share with you. These words have found there way to my heart that I wanted to share with you and hope they find their way to your heart as well.
